Mindraker is a combination of quiz, competition and game delivered completely online and seamlessly integrated to give students thumps up in the much awaited “online contest”. It is India’s First integrated Talent Hunt initiative to identify the “ignited minds” from institutions and give them the much required platform to show case their talents to the world. |
|
This will be an annual event starting from 2008 and will go on every year with more and more value additions. Registrations are open from 1st September 2008 and closes on the 30th September 2008. Short listed school / colleges will be invited to participate in “MIndraker” - the National Talent Hunt Program scheduled from October 15th 2008. |
|
The event shall be jointly organized by Mindlogicx Infotech Ltd., the R&D based technology development company that has promoted VEDAS, world’s first integrated technology platform for knowledge management and delivery and Education Times, from Times of India, India’s largest media house. |

| Eligibility requirements |
|
Schools and colleges that apply must be in India and should be recognized by state or central government agencies. No tutorial colleges, private tuition centers will be allowed to participate in the quiz. Students from XI and XII standard from School and final year students from colleges only are eligible for participation. However the participation shall be done only through their respective educational institutions. |

| Selection Criteria |
|
The quiz master and his team will conduct the online quiz contest through Mindraker platform and short list successful teams in each region by elimination process. The quiz team will assess each team on both quantitative and qualitative criteria based on certain fixed parameters and announce the results every month. The contest will open on the 15th of the month and will close by 30th of the month, for which results will be announced during the first week of next month. Short listed teams will participate in the next round which will commence from the 15th of the next month and the process will go on like this to select teams in each region under quarter finals, semi finals and then final team. Each final team will contest against the rest of the final teams from other regions. For the sake of convenience, we have decided to have 8 regions across India. |

This is India’s first online quiz contest targeting the final year school and college students across India. |

Recognized Institutions can register students from their school/college. |
|

Each institution can nominate five best students from their school/college through the completely filled nomination form. |
|

Categories for nomination:
a. Contest for Junior level for students in the XI or XII standards (1st or 2nd year PUC or Plus 1 & Plus 2, as it is known in some parts of the country)
b. Contest for Senior level meant for pre final year and final year students in colleges |

Email will be sent out directly to the institutions concerned. The registration link will be provided in the link. So that the administration can use the same for registering their students online. |
|

Printed brochure will be sent to eligible institutions by post containing nomination forms, which may be used to submit their nominations. |
|
| |
The evaluation committee will screen all applications submitted and inform the school or college selected for participating in the online quiz, after which they should register themselves online. |
|

Only short listed school / college will be allowed to participate in the online quiz. |
|
| |
No registration will be entertained directly from the students without the approval of the institution concerned. |
|
| |
Details of contest will be forwarded the institution once the registration is accepted by the Quiz team. |

“India’s Top Mentors” Award |
|
Mindlogicx Infotech Ltd and Education Times shall jointly give away awards for “India’s Top Mentors” who made the difference every year during the final presentation ceremony. The awards are meant for the faculty who has tirelessly worked for the success of their students. The details and eligibility criteria are found in the website. The award shall honor 100 top mentors across the country in two categories – each in school and college level. |

We believe the nation’s progress is in the hands of those who are committed to propelling a knowledge based eco system and they are the mentors who can create future leaders. We would like to honor such great people who must have invested their time and energy to create the future leaders. The award consists of commemoration plaque and certificates. |

| Schedule and scope for the conduct of Mindraker |
|

Mindraker will be organized within the zones – one institute against another in knock out rounds. |
|
| |
There will be one team representing each zone and they will contest against other zonal teams ultimately having one winner for each state. |
|
| |
The inter state quiz shall be conducted every month in each region and national level event will be conducted at the end of the year. |
|
| |
The national event will be telecast on select media and TV and will also be web cast through VEDAS technology platform. |
|
| |
Larger corporate and media house will be participating in the event. |
|
| |
The contest will contain questions in General Knowledge and Aptitude including logical reasoning, objective English, and quantitative aptitude etc along with the following topics:

h. Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences)

The Quiz Master will compile, check, validate, the questions that will be put up in the Mindraker Platform and conduct the quiz as scheduled. The decision of the quiz master on the choice, correctness of the answers, and any other technical aspect of the quiz will be final and binding on the contestants. |

| Rules and regulations: |
|
| |
Mindraker Quiz will be open from 09:00 hours on 15th of the month to 18.00 hours on the 30th of the month. |
|
| |
The contestant cannot use or refer to any online reference material for answering the quiz as this will be disabled automatically when the quiz starts. |
|
| |
The Quiz will have a set of 50 questions from the various categories, chosen randomly. |
|
| |
The contestant will have to answer all the questions within 35 minutes from the start of the online contest. |
|
| |
The Mindraker Quiz Contest will be deemed complete
i. When the contestant completes answering the questions and submits the online quiz
ii. When the allotted time of 35 minutes has elapsed. The clock counts down to 00:00:00 and Mindraker will shut down the quiz window on expiry of the allotted time. |
|

The contestant can view the score in Mindraker immediately after completing the online quiz. The VEDAS dashboard will also display the relative ranking in the Mindraker Quiz Contest as of that time. |
|

| |
The winners will be chosen based on the speed, severity levels chosen and other criteria set from time to time. |
|
| |
There is no negative marking in the quiz. |
|
| |
Mindraker will display the score sheet along with the contestant’s details, as entered in the registration form. The contestant can print, save or email this score sheet for future reference. |

In the event of a tie, the decision of the Quiz Master will be final and binding on all participants. |
|
| |
No disputes by the contestants shall be entertained. |
|
| |
The winners and the Institutes from where the students have appeared from will be informed through e-mail. |
|
| |
Mindraker is not open to the staff and their relatives of Mindlogicx or Education Times. |
|
| |
Mindlogicx reserves the right to terminate or extend the contest at any time, or to accept or reject entries at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason what so ever. The decision of Mindlogicx regarding the contest will be final and binding on every one. |

| Result Processing and publishing |

The Quiz Master will be responsible for the collation of the results at the end of each round. |
|
| |
If there is a tie for the winning positions, other criteria will be considered including the speed, severity levels among others and the decision of the quiz master will be final and binding on all. |

| 1. Who should submit their nomination for “National Talent Hunt Programme”? |
|
Students from state and central government recognized educational institutions across India only need submit their nominations through their respective institutions. No private tutorial colleges, tuition centers are allowed to participate. No participation directly by the students are also allowed. |

Yes, they can apply again.

| 8. What is the process after submission of nominations and when will the institutions be selected to participate in the quiz? |
|
The selection team at Mindraker will evaluate each nominations received and inform the short listed academic institutions to participate in the contest. Such short listed institutions will have to register online for the National Talent Hunt Programme and receive their user ID. Online registration for short listed academic institutions will be done at www.vedaslive.com or www.educationtimes.indiatimes.com.

| 9. When will the winners be informed? |
|
The online contest will be held from 15th to 30th of every month and the winners will be informed during the first week of next month by email or courier.

| 10. How many nominations and how many teams each institution can sponsor? |
|
Every institution will file only one nomination and can sponsor five teams consisting of five participants. In all each academic institution has the option to sponsor 25 brilliant candidates to this contest.

|
The finals will be held in a major city in India, the details of which will be announced in due course.
